Psalm 131

Psalm 131

I Have Calmed and Quieted My Soul
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1O LORD, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
2But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3O Israel, hope in the LORD
from this time forth and forevermore.

First step...humble yourself...I have to realize that everything is owned and comes from the Lord. What's the point of pride? Does it ever lead to anything good...no- the bible says God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Then...don't occupy yourself with things that are way too big and awesome for you to handle. God's hands are big enough. He's dealing with those things.

Trust in God...know that your sufficiency upon yourself will only get you so far. Reliance upon God will take you places you never dreamed of.
